हथकरघा का अर्थ, हाथ से कपड़ा बुनने का तरीका जो बगैर  बिजली पर कार्य करता  है। इसको एक बहुत ही सधा बुनकर अपने पैरों ,पैडल और धागा को  बेहद खूबसूरती से संतुलित तरीके से करता है । इसको करने के लिये, मन और शरीर का पूर्ण संतुलन और सामंजस्य की जरूरत है। हथकरघे से बनी वस्तुऍं, अच्छी गुणवत्ता और काफी आरामदायक होती है जिसे वर्षभर पहना जा सकता है। चलो सभी, इस भारतीय  कपड़ा बुनने की कला को प्रोत्साहित किया जाये और अपने आस-पास की वस्तुओं का दिल से प्रचार - प्रसार किया जाये। कला और उद्यमी विरासत को,आगे ले जाया जाये। चलो ,स्थानीय वस्तुओं का प्रचार करें,इसको "सेवाकार्ट फॉउंडेशन",अपना सहयोग प्रदान करती है।

Handloom A traditional Weaving Technique
Earlier it was a Pit Loom now it has been converted into a frame loom wherein it can be easily dismantled and set up. Earlier all the villages were having their own resources we never used to buy from outside. The Raw material (cotton fiber) will go into a number of processes and the cotton yarn is made which comes in the form of Hank. The sizing of the yarn will be made. The yarn will be converted to bobbins for the Warp and for the weft (Kandaki in Karnakata). Attaching the warp yarn to the loom will be done. The manipulation of the foot pedals to lift the warp has to be in sync with the throwing of the shuttle which carries the weft yarn. When there is a cross of warp and weft the fabric weaving begins.
